Whiskey? No, I can't - it'll curdle my Baileys. 🧐
Easington/ Spurn
What a smashing day. Kicked off by finding a Firecrest and Woodcock in the garden.
Then had a Goldcrest land on my head in Easington Churchyard.
Then found a Dusky Warbler.
And then a Hume's Warbler.

I never find anything! 🙃

I adore this aquarium. There's always something going on, wherever you look. 🥰

There's a big ass plane doing crazy things! We've just been watching it from the window. It's coming up as a 'military or government' aircraft, and it's come from Brize Norton. But it looks like a normal passenger plane.
Bizarre!

Crikey! It's been a long time since I had a temperature this high.
9.45pm and I'm eating an ice lolly in an attempt to cool down. Absolutely sweltering!! 😷🔥🔥🔥

Today I have been mostly feeling sorry for myself. That awful feeling at the start of a cold where EVERYTHING hurts........ 😷🙃

Thoroughly enjoying having these squeaky little tykes back in the garden.

Stonkingly close views of Sabines Gull off Scilly today. You can even hear them gently calling to each other.

A mighty Common Frog accidentally plucked from the nursery TadPool this evening.

Sadly, amphibian numbers in the local area have declined massively in recent years, but this little dude offers a teeny glimmer of hope.

Hey, congrats and all that. I wish you a long and happy marriage.

However, I'm pretty sure it's 10 years' bad luck if you choke a seal pup with one of these....

Sound up (excuse the washing machine in the background).

The local gulls regularly use our flat roof as a cracking platform.

I'd love to know how many crab shells and/or coconuts/monkey skulls are on our roof.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Little Tern colony. Glorious weather, tons of birds, a stunning sunset, and a full moon over the sea.

My soul is calm after a rough week. 😌

Properly chuffed to find this Stone-Curlew this afternoon. 😊
"I've got a Stone-Curlew" are not everyday words from Mrs French, but today was that day!! Local mega on the new Withfleet Outstrays realignment, at the Skeffling end.

Dusted off the portable #NotMothTrap and took it down to the Tern hut this evening.

Singles of Tarten Sheath and Whimsical Nigel, both FOY for me. The highlight, though, was a raucous flock of 17 Chocolate-banded Nipples.

I also found a Swan under one of the egg trays. Which was unexpected.

Really looking forward to attending @globalbirdfair.bsky.social this weekend - my first visit for about 7 years! 😮

It's going to be a scorcher though. When not on the @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social stand, I will be searching for a lawn full of sprinklers to frolic in. 🥵🌡🚿
