I have never understood why the govt doesn't emphasise the convenience (not having to post copies of bank statements) and instead talks about rolling out ID to immigrants as some sort of weapon.

Is there no end to this slew of "news" from vested interest lobbying groups? Banks, supermarkets, startups,... How about ordinary people who are taxed far more highly than all those groups. I guess we dont have access to the pay-to-print news machine.

How about stop adding internet access to everything. Put the inverter in a metal box and let it do its job.

The thing is, theres no lock in. So whatever I would pay, I could just as easily stop paying and shift to a different model.

In the software engineering world, this has been going on for a good 50 years, which is a sizeable chunk of a professional career. We just move up the value chain. There's always more work to do than manpower to do it, and I don't see that changing.

Where does that p/e ratio come from? Most AI has an infinite p/e ratio because it doesnt make a profit. Is it from bundling AI in with other parts of the business (google, microsoft, oracle)?

What would be the impact on the worst part of the service, namely the passport queue? The last time I travelled it was much less pleasant than an airport. I don't see more train companies making this better.

Meta have been a publisher for well over a decade. The law just doesn't catch up. They just encoded what an editor would do. So the law probably wont do anything now they are also creating content.

I was hoping you would give some insight into that question. "Why?", but the video didnt go there. Without understanding why they are similar, we are not in a position to suggest useful changes.

As one of those drivers I'd agree. They are almost non existent where I come from. There's even a forum post with people discussing if 4-way stops exist in the UK www.sabre-roads.org.uk/forum/viewto...
Making sure you're not a bot!

That's where having 2FA codes on an authenticator app or dashlane on your laptop really saves the day.

Why do they get called 'minimalist'? A whole operating system of gadgets and gizmos is anything but. You know what's minimalist? A dash with just a speedo and fuel/range gauge.

cdn.sanity.io/files/1wyn2x... appears to be the eurostar methodology. In it they quote 6g, but they use purchasing agreemennts, which is nonsense.

And my EV gets 7km/kWh which is 19gCO2 @ uk electric 132gCO2/kWh. That comes down more if all 5 seats are full.
September 27, 2025 at 8:34 PM
Seems like dodgy numbers for eurostar. London underground and EVs are also fully electric. The UK portion of eurostar would
have the same carbon footprint per kWh for all 3.

Simpler trick: just use "who" and sound like a native speaker.

My main emotion was annoyance that they had made the whole queueing and waiting experience substantially worse than an airport. Bravo.

I still havent come across an induction hob that I haven't hated using. Maybe there exist versions with knob controls, but I've never seen them.

Especially if sandpapering too hard. Planning, booking, emailing is all well and good as long as its done correctly 100% of the time. One mistake and its worthless IMO.

Presumably you mean restaurant reservations where the the restaurant has sponsored the AI results today and organise your calendar so that you have time blocked out to listen to sponsored ads. I'm sure it could have a stab at that.

That would certainly be the right thing to do, although they are a late entrant. A significant portion of the delivey van market in the UK is already going electric. Most if not all the manufacturers have them.
