I can’t share too much right now, but I can say that jumping ahead and writing the end of this whole story *did* help me sort out some overarching themes I was struggling to piece together.

The rest of this chapter is just one spoiler after another, but I like this one out of context line 😌
It was the snowdrop that came first, petals twining through Jude's autumn hair, adrift like stars on a sea of death.

Got hit hard with the “get real obsessed with two lesbians” hammer

Crouched above her was a slight figure, one that swam blurry in her vision.

Kye having a real normal one
Jude was a song all her own, and Kye clawed greedily through the tender workings of the Aether after it, gorged on pale fragments of light and viscera between her teeth. She had none of the grace the God of All possessed, only her own fragile beast of hunger. Flowers bloomed, wilted, bloomed again. A rising and falling tide that fought its way to the shore, swift on the heels of entropy.
