College Baseball (esp. OSU BEAVERS). America improves w Inclusion & Diversity. We need more John Lewis’s & fewer Mike Johnson’s. Roberto Clemente was “The Great One”. I happen to love Oregon.
M. Farrow: replace all 8 of them w Bernie Sanders clones & the Republicans would still control the Senate - the result being that the govt. stays shut down & good people continue to go w/o paychecks or SNAP. ACA subsidies would still be due to expire. Here’s a better idea: Vote Out 8 Republicans.

how many hungry people would be sacrificed by whatever plan the “don’t cave” Democrats would have supported (to get the R’s to ‘cave’)
What was that plan? You know, the one that FORCED the Republican Senators to ‘cave’…”You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan”

Sketch out a detailed step-by-step outline that the Democrats could have followed, that would result in the (R) Majority giving in to their demands & passing a bill to re-open the Govt that included an extension of ACA subsidies. The problem isn't 8-D's - it's the elected (R) majorities in Congress.

"elections sweep" was great. But it didn't change the math in the House/Senate/Oval Office. For a minority party (which the D's sadly are at present in DC) to force their will on the majority party was not in the cards. I can't imagine a scenario in which the D's could have caused the R's to 'cave'

of course the “Socialism for the Rich” crowd (approximately coinciding w Republican Party insiders) always brings up Venezuela as their example of the ills of Socialism.
November 10, 2025 at 11:57 PM
official Fed. Agency sites (ie Forest Service) say that leftist Dems have shutdown the Govt.
Mikey Johnson sez the SNAP thing & swearing in of elected AZ representative can’t go ‘til the Govt re-opens. Then enuf Senate Dems vote to re-open; but Mikey’s leader is taking it to the TOP: Still No SNAP!

"Threatens". In the months leading up to the 2016 election he threaten to sue 20 times & followed through on 9%. Before he finishes a 2nd term (prematurely?? hope!) I may be amongst a minority of citizens that Trump HASN'T threatened to sue - unless he sues me for the word "prematurely" in this post

“…proven..” ??
Did I miss the part where California implemented a plan to make all 52 of their Congressional Districts majority Democrat? I stand by my statement that getting 5 out of 6 Oregon Congressional District to (D) is as far as any redistricting map can be stretched.

I'll bet he's also deep in thought trying to figure out why that check from Mexico (to pay for the Wall) got lost in the mail.

Young Haley Currently supporting Vice President Vance in 2028…BUT (it’s all bullshit, before the ‘but’) - He needs to “somehow work on his charisma, aura, and likability.” Hint: “somehow” that quest is out of reach for the Hillbilly Elegy guy. Dan Quayle >>> JD Vance in the ‘real guy’ spectrum.

Maybe a true statement, but Stephen Miller might dispute that (though I'm unsure if Miller plays golf)
November 8, 2025 at 12:53 AM
At least he'll have plenty of reading material in there...and now that he's President again, it matters not that some of it is "Classified".

Your advice "Don’t complain about money if you aren’t willing to make it yourself" is not relevant to my life, or to my values. But thanks anyhow for trying to set me straight.

In other words, Trumps idea of an emergency is the courts are saying “give the people food”….NOT that the people need the food….what a fucker.
November 8, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Offering a reasonable solution to get things opened back up (as Schumer and Senate D’s have done), followed by the inevitable R rejection, is merely a step in the process….and not a bad move at all, considering that the R’s own the Senate, the House, and the Oval.

Wow! 102 speakers….and only 86 of them are white males! Myself (being a white male) should be really excited….but: PASS

Trump claim (if true) would certainly warrant a follow-up “Michigan Man of the Year” award.

California Prop 50 (when all votes are counted) will pass by about 3 million votes.

California: You Are Amazing.

Conservatives in the far NE corner of California, as they are represented in Congress by a latte-sipping lawyer from Mill Valley, can thank Donald Trump & the Texas Republican Party

"their only 'policy' is Donald Trump"...True Statement...with several 'policy' subsets, including:

Immigrants and Transgender people are at the core of OUR (meaning: YOU American voters) problem!

Losers ignoring the message is Step 1 toward Trump becoming a very lame duck just one year from now.

I despise Trump.
I only entered my post because I also don't like dishonest posts like the one at the top of this thread.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has formally invited the Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House after the team won their second consecutive championship Saturday, knocking out the Blue Jays in a nail-biter seventh game of the World Series.

Spanberger is more the future of the Party than is the Mayor of NYC..but the media will play up the Socialist NYC angle
On the 'wah-wah' side I see on a mainstream media site: "Earle-Sears, 61, struggled to find a coherent message"
REALLY ?
Hint: Coherency & MAGA Do Not live in the same Universe
