All four Fine Gael MEPs voted with the far-right: Nina Carberry, Regina Doherty, Seán Kelly, Maria Walsh

Independent Ireland MEP Ciaran Mullooly also sided with the far-right

And I mean, the bajillionaires and politicians are not wrong that this was an act of aggression against them: they just paid a thousand easily pliable media clowns to scream and shout that it was all actually leftist extremism, and not regular people saying “Let’s punish murderers and sex criminals”

You just can’t have massive media platforms that allow people to effectively organise to seek justice against their ruling class: they standing things like applying pressure on prosecutors to investigate notorious sex criminals who happen to be wealthy and very well connected.

"This woke Me-Too bullshit has gone too far," said the former Harvard President and Secretary of the U.S. Treasury to the billionaire pedophile sex trafficker in a private email that the Justice Department under both parties kept secret for years

We didn’t arrive at a moment where GOP staffers are yucking it up in group chats talking about how rape is epic and how wealthy men should be allowed to own women as chattel again by accident. This didn’t emerge out of the ether. Reactionary movements react to social phenomena. It’s in the name!

It’s really not difficult to decode Epstein and the broad milieu of ‘civilised’ people now being revealed as part of his orbit if you are/were willing to entertain the notion that Weinstein was not an aberration, but the mode. But a lot of time and energy was expended suppressing that notion.

I again note that the SNP was for decades an impenetrable orb of omerta, due to their (justifiable) hostility to media. And all it took to crack it open like a piñata was for their ex-leader to get arrested for arse-grabbing, then it haemorrhaged treats for every reactionary wanker in the land.

The only thing left to work out is who is a straight up foaming-at-the-mouth wingnut crackpot; who were just bleak cynics who thought they could turn the bullshit to their advantage, and who is just a dumbass who always does what their peers are doing. Even then, it’s not difficult to work out.

I’d guess: the lads agreed Sir Keir and Morgan had to go when they humiliated everyone with the Mandelson stuff but the Noticing got worryingly broad and intense, so there was tacit agreement to dial it back until early 2026. McSweeney has now violated the truce and made a cunt of everyone, again.

look, I'm sure they meant well, it was just another huge and inexplicable violation of all journalistic principles that favored very identifiable political interests in a very particular direction, this just happens, it's an accident
