I'm finally getting around to documenting the work from my last glaze firing. I'm really looking forward to post thesis when I can really start exploring this body of work through different forms.

Some older work for this Thursday! I never thought I'd be doing this or that it was a thing that even existed until I took a wheel class as an elective at college many years ago. The next thing I knew, I grew a beard and had an art degree.

Everything is an opportunity. Each class they make a temporary sculpture out of their failed pots as a collaborative exercise and to have some fun with the frustration that comes along with learning. They named this one "Hubert"

I started to feel like having my students throw out their first cylinders was wasted potential. To fix that, I decided to have them make assemblages out of all their intro cylinders. I'm trying to think of the wheel as a tool and potential ways to work outside of just the functional vessles.
