Hello!! Sorry it's been a while, but my thesis has taken over my life. It's finally up, and it's exceeded my expectations! Now I just have to focus on my writing, and I'll be graduating in May!

Thesis mode is in full swing! 3 more down, 11 being built, and 7 ready for glaze!

Hey ya'll,

I'm kind of tired of screaming into the void every morning and thinking about what I can do.

Recently, I've been thinking about how amazing the clay community rallied to support civil rights and make change in 2020 through what we do best; building community and making things...

This is the last one from the firing! During my classes, I've been working on some cups for an upcoming woodfire to see how this translates to a different body and firing. I'm hoping to get some sweet woodash drips!

Another one! I have a few more started in my studio, so over the next few days, I'll add the rest of the finished ones as well as some in progress.

I'm finally getting around to documenting the work from my last glaze firing. I'm really looking forward to post thesis when I can really start exploring this body of work through different forms.

I had a thesis committee check-in on Friday. Things are getting real now! In a few months, I'll be graduating, and the job search is starting to warm up.

Some older work for this Thursday! I never thought I'd be doing this or that it was a thing that even existed until I took a wheel class as an elective at college many years ago. The next thing I knew, I grew a beard and had an art degree.

Another jar from last semester! The new ones came out really well, I just need to get some pictures of them. It amazed me how much my work has changed over the past few years, but I guess that's what grad school does.

Everything is an opportunity. Each class they make a temporary sculpture out of their failed pots as a collaborative exercise and to have some fun with the frustration that comes along with learning. They named this one "Hubert"

I started to feel like having my students throw out their first cylinders was wasted potential. To fix that, I decided to have them make assemblages out of all their intro cylinders. I'm trying to think of the wheel as a tool and potential ways to work outside of just the functional vessles.

Now, with more color! They're in the kiln now, but I'm feeling pretty good about them!

Apparently, terra sigillata makes a nice stain. 😅

Sometimes, it's nice to step into the woodshop for a few hours. Now I have to get back into my ceramics cave, the thesis clock is ticking 🕰🙃🫠

It seems that it's working on skyfeed. Reddit says it can take a little bit to update on bluesky

Coming from a high fire background, I was never able to explore colors the way I've been able to with this body of work. Sometimes ceramics can be painful and disappointing, but it's never boring!
