Nashville Strong Babies is a lifesaving measure that I wholeheartedly support. Metro Public Health leaders are collaborative and innovative to save the lives of infants and mothers.

Thanks, Nate Rau, and @axios.com (Axios Nashville) for covering this program.

Nobody showing up to watch his stupid parade is honestly way funnier than a huge protest would have been
About an hour until parade start time in D.C., and there are plenty of prime viewing spots wide open, particularly toward the beginning of the route.

So what can we do?

If you are doing exciting work with R, share it!

And if you are using LLMs, tell them to use R; I’m creating things with R these days I never thought possible.

This is why I post so much about {mapgl} and other packages; I want to see R continue to thrive!

Jill Sobule's cover of Warren Zevon's "Don't Let Us Get Sick" never fails to break my heart.

Don't let us get sick, don't let us get old
Don't let us get stupid, all right?
Just make us be brave and make us play nice
And let us be together tonight
Don't let us get sick

This is AMAZING
Engineers in Chicago have created carbon-negative building materials using seawater, electricity, and CO2. The technique mimics how corals build reefs, and generates substances similar to concrete while permanently sequestering carbon dioxide. buff.ly/Dn8EiXA

The goal of the {findSVI} #RStats 📦 is "to calculate regional CDC/ATSDR Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) at a geographic level of interest using US census data". Functions include find_svi() and get_census_data(). By Heli Xu & others

Calculate Social Vulnerability Index for Communities
Developed by CDC/ATSDR (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/ Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry), Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) serves as a tool to assess the resilience of communities by taking into account socioeconomic and demographic factors. Provided with year(s), region(s) and a geographic level of interest, findSVI retrieves required variables from US census data and calculates SVI for communities in the specified area based on CDC/ATSDR SVI documentation. Reference for the calculation methods: Flanagan BE, Gregory EW, Hallisey EJ, Heitgerd JL, Lewis B (2011) <doi:10.2202/1547-7355.1792>.

Having lunch in the shade at Howard Office Building. Saw four people across three generations zip by on ebikes. Think they were here voting. Heading back into the office, I saw one person heading into the Clerks office with a distinct "I'm getting married today" vibe. 🦞 Very wholesome lunchbreak

omg. I'm listening to the audiobook of Francis Fukuyama's _Political Order and Political Decay_. It's 24 hours long, I have 2.5 hours left and he's _just now_ getting to political decay. I don't think he's going to do it justice.
