I've seen rough box art but this one always stands out to me. I mean some of the perspectives and elements are just completely off - look at his knees. The illustration style looks amateurish. It makes some sense given that the artist only had less than a day but still surprising it got approved.

I love the PC / DOS port and I quite enjoyed playing the PC remake too - it's pretty fun and they stayed true to what made the original great!

Haha I don't like to attack anyone specific but it was hard not to in this case as I chose to be a French corsair and it was in The Silver Empire era which was Spanish dominated 😅

Yeah parallax scrolling is pretty simple but such a great effect. Our first home computer was a VIC-20 and I remember Choplifter being one of my favs. I always enjoyed Moon Patrol too - great games.

Rage still kicks it hard. It has that unique blend of influences that is timeless for me.

For Karuizawa Yūkai Annai, it's cool that you're learning some kanji and words while having fun playing! I've been using Google Lens too for playing Famicom games, it's fantastic.

Working my way through this. There's something satisfying about kicking butt in Double Dragon - hard not to get hooked on a good beat 'em up right! I played the NES version the most but DOS version in EGA is nice. New pixel art is looking really cool!
