FG, FF, SF and II all vote to give €100 million of public money to the horse and greyhound racing industry.

That's three times more money than the core funding for all our sports!

€20 million is going to the cruel greyhound racing industry.

Shameful.

I like that Jennifer Whitmore TD kicks ass so nicely. She [like me] is against fox-hunting & is a conservationist. Her attacker, despite his ‘save the foxes’, is pro-hunting. I was brought up to believe torturing animals is both wrong, & non-Christian.

And, of course, the problem for people like me is I find that I do not trust them not to lurch right even if they say all the lovely socialistic things we long to hear.
We heard all that from Labour and the Greens. What we got was more of the same with a wee tweak here and there.

They will not 'steal' enough FFFG voters no matter how many 'rural pursuits' they support or 'concerns' they espouse about immigrants/Trans people/ latest clickbait bogieman distraction.

All they achieve is losing the Left.
Even after seeing the vote exists.

And FFFG can continue as always.

Why do Sinn Féin insist on squandering every single potential for election success that could build a genuine alternative by lurching rightward at every opportunity?

Time and time again they fail to see the centre to right is well served and it's the centre to left that is crying out for change.

Dunno if sharing photos of the violent threats and hatred on spoiled votes and thereby giving those gowls the audience and coverage they want their otherwise mainly unseen messages to get is great tbh

No matter who you’re voting for in #Aras25, sensationalised attack ads are just grim, especially at a time when politicians repeatedly (and rightly) call for reducing toxicity in discourse and an end to personalised attacks.

Nobody wants this stuff. It sours an electorate that desires civility.

Yesterday, I joined a human rights group in Ramallah, the Occupied West Bank, to help Palestinian farmers harvest their olive trees. Then settlers arrived with guns, backed by the IDF, threatened us, and forced us out of the orchard. Violence is surging in the West Bank.

So despite knowing full well that Connolly had to take the clients assigned to her as a barrister and trailing massively in the polls, Humphries doubles down with an attack in the Sindo.
What an awful, petty, snide person she is - completely unfit to be Ireland's president.

I was out of Israeli prison in five days. They’ve been holding Dr Hussam Abu Safiya for nearly a year without charge, along with thousands more Palestinians. A ceasefire without an end to occupation and accountability for Israel will just be a slower continuation of the genocide

So just to clear up this week we've learned the following things are threats to democracy:

- Pleading not guilty in court
- The Bar's professional ethical standards
- Criticising the media
- Voting No on a referendum
- Paul Murphy
