This is my minor adventure today. David’s flight was delayed and then I sent him off in an Uber at 11:30. My Uber account.

About 10 minutes later, I realize he’s forgotten his toiletry bag with his meds in them. Can’t book another Uber while he’s still in one. 🧵

I think this is because older women haven’t been asked or don’t see their experiences as assault, such as rape within marriage, which wasn’t illegal until 1983 in Canada (later in US).

Note; 1st bullet point says one in 3 women have REPORTED assault. And many stats exclude intimate partner SA.

What does a “woke flag” look like?

My friends circle is getting smaller and smaller. 🥺

We think she is a primitive Canaan dog. She’s a rescue from Israel. We’ve had her almost 9 years and she still insists on doing things her way bc that’s what kept her safe (also, we joke that she thinks we’re hopelessly naive).

That pic was from before adoption. This is a more recent one.

Sweet. My Bella will never forget that time, even if she knows she’s safe (she is).

Yep, better educated, better read, happier, safer, healthier, funnier, etc.

Toronto, are peonies in the stores right now? Never see them in my neighbourhood so have to travel to Bloor West find them. But I have a car this weekend to do so.

If I was going to continue this thought, I would recommend The Vaster Wilds by @legroff.bsky.social for autumn.

Will have to think about a winter novel.

Re-reading Hild by @nicolaz.bsky.social. So tied to the seasons - perfect for spring. Then, in short order, I will pick up Menewood again. I want to read them (close to) back-to-back.

When I think of Hild, I think of sun and fields of grains. Menewood is water and the woods - perfect for summer.

A great book to discover at this time; The Light of Days: the untold story of women resistance fighters in H!tler’s ghettos.

For decades we’ve been told that Jews didn’t #resist what H!tler did to them. But they did!

And now we say the American people aren’t resisting - but they are! Keep it up!
