Last issue of FF by Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta, et al. Reed and Sue Richards ask a future version of their son if they were good parents. "Did we do a good job, son?" Heart-wrenching. Promethea #7 by Alan Moore, J.H. Williams III, et al. SPOILER: One iteration of Promethea was a gay man who turned into a woman (Promethea). When their straight lover finds out, he kills the avatar of Promethea, which drives him insane. From Thanos #15 by Donny Cates, Geoff Shaw, et al. SPOILER: Cosmic Ghost Rider reveals his true identity: he's a future version of Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher. From Saga of the Swamp Thing #34. Abigail eats the psychedelic fruit of Swamp Thing, which leads to her seeing the world through Swamp Thing's eyes. It ends with the two climaxing and becoming one.

A Black person, Ash, lies in their bed, looking at their phone. Two pundits are talking to each other. The man says, "About damn time. There are only two genders!" The woman says, "Right, Jeff. Kids shouldn't hear about this stuff. It'll only confuse them." Ash rolls over in their bed and sighs. A white person is getting dressed in professional clothing, trying to tie their tie in the mirror. They're listening to the news on their phone, which is saying, "Alabama governor Kay Ivey has now signed into law two bills, one of which bans the discussion in schools of sexual orientation and gender identity deemed 'not age appropriate.'" Their husband, a Black man with glasses, approaches them and says, "Babe, you okay?" They respond, "Not really." Their husband helps them fix their tie, saying, "Here. Let me." Ash is getting ready in front of the mirror wearing a sports bra. They turn to the side and push in their breasts to see what it would look like with a man's chest. They throw on a baggy shirt. The gay couple is listening to the news in their living room. The TV says, "The other bill punishes doctors to ten years in prison if they provide hormones or puberty blockers to trans youth." The white person leans down and kisses the Black person, who is sitting on the couch, on the cheek. The Black person says, "Is today the day?" The white person responds, "If I can be strong enough." Ash's parents are in the background watching TV while Ash eats cereal in the foreground. The TV says, "I believe very strongly that if the good Lord made you a boy, then you are a boy, and if He made you a girl, then you are a girl." Ash's dad responds, "Good for her. About time someone stood up to this woke nonsense." Ash leaves for school. Their dad says, "Hey, have a good day, Ashley." Under their breath, Ash responds, "It's Ash." Now at school, Ash is walking down the hallway. They pass another student, who says, "*cough* D*ke *cough*." The white person sits in their car, gripping their steering wheel. Crying, they reach into their glove compartment. They pin a trans flag button to their collar. The caption says, "When we feel the world is out to get us..." The white person walks into the classroom and says, "Good morning, class." They lay their bag on the desk. The caption says, "Our voices muted, the air stolen from our very lungs..." The class responds, "Good morning, Mr. Carpenter." The caption says, "As we sink further into the depths, all it takes is one hand outreached..." The white person inhales. Ultimates #6 by @denizcamp.bsky.social, Juan Frigeri, Frederico Blee, Travis Lanham, et al is another amazing installment in this series, which takes huge swings and has yet to miss. The way it takes core Marvel concepts and turns them on their heads is nothing short of inspiring to me as a writer.

Uncanny X-men #5 by @gailsimone.bsky.social, @davidmarquez.bsky.social, @claytoncowles.bsky.social, Matthew Wilson, et al continues to shine among all the From the Ashes Era X-books. The art is next level, and the characterization is spot-on. And the feels. Oh, the feels. "Fly, Blackbird. Fly."

Ultimates #4 - The Ultimate Universe continues to impress, & this issue by @denizcamp.bsky.social, @philnoto.bsky.social, & VC's Travis Lanham is no exception. Its focus on Doom was brilliant. I love this team's takes on classic characters w/realistic twists that broaden the diversity of the cast.

Absolute Batman is my favorite Absolute title (no shade to the other spectacular ones). The way @ssnyder1835.bsky.social, @nickdragotta.bsky.social, Frank Martin, @claytoncowles.bsky.social, et al take core concepts and twist them while staying true to Batman's core is so unique & imaginative. /2

Batman and Robin #15 - I'm trying as many of the All In titles as I can, and they haven't disappointed yet. Patrick Kennedy Johnson, Javi Fernandez, Marcelo Maiolo, Steve Wands, et al manage to blend the emotional with action beautifully. /1

I just read Ultimates #2 and 3 by @denizcamp.bsky.social, #JuanFrigeri, #FredericoBlee, VC's #TravisLanham, et al. This book is a masterpiece in the making and isn't afraid to tackle dark subject matter. In fact, I'm kinda surprised Marvel is publishing it. I can't wait to read the next issue!
