All very true. The tentacles of petroleum are everywhere, but I would at least like to see an honest effort to smartly curtail the BURNING of fossil fuels. Climate change debates aside, it is hard to argue against simply trying to reduce how we pollute our world.

This is exactly the type of thing you WANT the govt to stop. It is very telling that they don’t criticize it, let alone try to shut it down (that would offend the freedumb gang). The freedumbers can say whatever they want about public health care challenges, but outright fraud isn’t one of them.

I have no idea what the govt’s rationale is for this. They hate public health care, but it is OK to be scammed privately?

A bit of critical thinking tells you that if if a legit successful treatment was developed for ALS, the developer would be very wealthy - and not operating out of Moose Jaw.

So, AB somehow finds private investors, keeps public dollars out of this, AND they find a way to sell the benefits to BC and First Nations 🤔. That extremely unlikely outcome would satisfy: the feds, AB, BC, SK and BC First Nations.

I don’t know if this would fly in Sask. Yes, we’re conservative, but not in the same way as AB. I don’t think we’re as ideologically zealous about privatizing health care. We don’t have as many powerful, wealthy people (who can afford this approach) aggressively pushing this agenda.

I’m not an economist or financial analyst, but I do know that the 2025 budget deficit is already much higher, plus we need to invest in areas that secure a viable future. Handing out more public money for a pipeline that private industry won’t underwrite is NOT a business case!
