I have accrued 274 hours of Annual Leave and 761 hours of Sick Leave, and yet I still schedule most of my doctors' appointments for when I have a day off.

Thank God we have magazines like @uncannymagazine.bsky.social that are good to short story authors, but it's a shame F&SF, Asimov's, and Analog have lost so much of their luster!
This is at least the fourth story I've seen of an author having to exchange multiple emails (over 20) with this publisher to get the contract language to not be rights grabby and it's one of three where the writer walked away.

I appreciate the effort and transparency but I will also say-
On August 12, 1971, 16-year-old me mailed the first story I ever wrote off on its first submission to my dream market, F&SF. My tale was quickly rejected. On July 17th, 2025, I finally sold a story to that magazine. Here's why I felt I had to withdraw that story. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...

I just renewed my main domain registration through 2027, but I'm going to let a couple of other ones expire in January, including withdrawnpodcast.com bc now that it's coming up on the 10th anniversary of our last episode, I don't think @loather.bsky.social and I are coming back to it!

I had a weird situation with Facebook earlier this year where apparently my account was hacked and my account was suspended. FB's customer service department is basically unreachable, so I lost my FB account.

I wonder if we'll get a petition candidate this year?

Also, will I interview the candidates on the podcast? Probably? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm looking for books or articles on giving useful feedback at work. Particularly ones that recognize neurodiversity and do NOT focus on personality and acknowledge that gender, race, ethnicity, etc, affect the types of feedback people give and receive.

If you haven't looked yet, it's worse than you're imagining. I seriously checked the URL 3 or 4 times to make sure it wasn't a satire site.
