Everyone seems to hate her so what's the obvious solution? Put her in harms way. If 'something' happens everyone's problems are solved.

She can't be allowed to die in prison, that's too obvious and suspicious, but equally she can't be allowed to talk.
However she can't be allowed to be free either, that looks like some powerful people being unwilling to find child abusers, or at the very least condoning child abusers
