At work, I use many languages and read code in different styles written by different people and need to contextualize quickly to contribute. It's annoying to lookup the specific "sugar" to understand what's going on when it can be written in an agnostic way with no performance hit most of the time

I appreciate Severance because it's so far away from the lost formula. Mystery is a big part of the show, but they aren't hiding the reveal with 6 seasons of filler. Almost every question the audience had was answered this season. Still enough left to be intriguing for the next season tho :)

Can definitely get a lot going in a few days! I have a lot of experience prototyping and doing game jams so I have a good idea of where to start/get things up quickly. What actually takes a long time is making maintainable game architecture that you can easily extend and work on for a long time :P

For this current prototype only about a week...but the concept I've had floating around for quite a while (few years). Sort of a late 19th century/Transylvania looter shooter/roguelite vibe. I've been going back and forth between making it in 2d or 3d. Leaning towards this top down 2d style now tho

True, pretty accurate to the original show though :D I saw it a handful of times when I was a kid on Saturday morning cartoons, it's fun to see it coming back. I tried to explaining the show to someone one day and I'm like...is this just a fever dream from my childhood lol. Pretty bizarre concept

It always surprises me how much of a difference it makes lol. Before screen shake it felt pretty lame since there aren't any other effects yet...but sprinkle a little screen shake in there and now it's got some oomph. A good punchy sound effect also makes a big difference

the frustrating part of this is that it's only been 2 weeks and the damage is already going to take years to fix. Hiring competent people again will take a long time if the tides shift back (and elections aren't rigged by next cycle). Dems will get blamed for not cleaning up the carnage fast enough

found a bug with the new map keybind. Keybind works for opening the map, but closing the map is still the default keybind M (or esc works too). Also can't bind keys to the tilde key

not quite what happened...SCOTUS heard two cases that had no standing (2 people that wouldn't qualify for loan forgiveness and AGs filing on behalf of MOHELA, who didn't want to be involved)...then interpreted "waive and modify" in the HEROES act to not mean waive and modify. 6-3 decision :l

Maybe tech CEOs and venture capitalists? Anecdotally, I'm in tech and don't know a single engineer that is anti science. Outside of a few with egos most engineers are smart, empathetic people with better than average analytical/critical thinking skills.
