On this Air France flight and they announced that the languages spoken by the crew were Portuguese, Thai, French, and Parisian, and someone snort-laughed and I’ve never felt more happy to be headed back to Europe.

I yelled at my son for using the good hand towels to clean his car. Because now that means I have to file a missing persons report before his mom gets home and finds out and there goes my Sunday plans.

I don’t post very often, but when I do I make the same types of grammar mistakes here that I used to make in the bad place. Then dealing with the dilemma of delete-and-edit vs fuck-it, just gives me the same warm and fuzzies.

Was invited to conflicting meetings on the same dates: one in Miami and the other in Madrid. My manager suggested I toss a coin to decide and I said no because that might mean I would have to go to the Miami one.

When I pick up the the mail I just leave the credit card bills unopened on the dining table for the Credit Card Fairy to return to sender.

I would like a job where I sit in a Parisian cafe with a book in one hand and an espresso in the other, periodically glancing up to silently judge passers-by until it’s time to go home to my rooftop flat and a chilled Pinot Gris where I absentmindedly pick through charcuterie before falling asleep.

Have to set up a Canada Revenue Agency account for my mom, but they no longer take passports as valid ID. Ontario Photo Cards are accepted. So I look up how to apply for a photo card. You know what’s the only piece of ID you need?

A passport.

When my youngest empties the dishwasher it sounds like how I imagine the bowels of a restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen during second seating on a Saturday night would sound.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been on hold so long that when you finally get through you’ve forgotten why you called in the first place 🙋🏻‍♂️

“Just bringing this to the top of your inbox” actually makes me want to push your e-mail farther down my priority list I’m not even joking.

July 4th holds the distinction — both historically and symbolically — as the date with the most presidential deaths.

John Adams, 90, and Thomas Jefferson, 83, both died on July 4th, 1826 and James Monroe, 73, died on July 4th, 1831.

"We are at the cutting edge of AI,” Kennedy said. “We’re implementing it in all of our departments. At FDA, we’re accelerating drug approvals so that you don’t need to use primates or even animal models. You can do the drug approvals very, very quickly with AI.”

OMFG. No trials? Just AI approval??

My head to my heart, after swearing off travel to the US and realizing this also includes Hawaii:

If I read another e-mail from middle management that includes the word “pivot” I swear to god I’m going to circle back and park it in their pain-point so hard.

They were handing out free samples of vodka martinis at the train station. Sign said “proof of age required”. I’m struggling to get my driver’s license out near the front of the line and security says “that’s ok, sir, you’re all good”.

“Medicine” needs to be a language option on this damned phone. I texted a tech that we need more relatlimab and it autocorrected and sent as “relationship”.

If anyone needs me I’ll probably be outside HR.

Just got yelled at by someone for taking their parking spot.

I apologized, pulled out, and then literally parked IN THE OPEN SPOT RIGHT BESIDE THEM.

For my non-Canadian friends who are curious, this is the type of thing we are seeing in all our grocery flyers now. Every store is flagging items made/produced in Canada, both in their ads and on store shelves.

If you send me an e-mail at 3:16pm on a Tuesday, and then an e-mail at 9:48am on Wednesday to follow-up on that e-mail, please know that I will ignore both e-mails until Thursday of the week after.

That’s if I’m in a good mood.
