protestors faced similar violence under the Obama administration. I get that now this is all much more wide spread and worse. but the groundwork for this cruelty was laid out by Trump’s predecessors. let’s not forget that, as inconvenient as that may seem.

If anything good can come out of this (and I am not optimistic) perhaps people will be forced to see all the ways in which our immigration system has always been fundamentally inhumane and cruel and false.

When I worked in immigration law this wasn’t as common as it is now, but it happened, and it made everyone in the room so desperately uncomfortable, the way you are when you are confronted with your own bald-faced lie that you have to keep up. This is from 2016.

There is no sight that more efficiently puts the lie to immigration “court” than the common sight of children “representing themselves.” Children too small to climb into the chair, children in pajamas who don’t know where they are, children not yet old enough to speak.

Delgado should definitely be in the hall. Despite being a Blue Jay he was one of favorite players growing up. Saw him hit an absolute tank in Syracuse once when he was rehabbing.
Carlos Delgado was blessed with as much talent to crush a baseball as nearly anyone. He also used his platform to speak out against injustice.
