I'm the Chris Walsh from NL, Canada 🇨🇦 that writes fantasy books you probably haven't read. The Gold & Steel Saga, specifically. My main site with book info and related ramblings: http://www.thegoldandsteelsaga.com
25 years on since the "information superhighway" was supposed to bring knowledge to the forefront, we've increasingly seen the pathologically rich use it against us with misinformation and appeals to ignorance. We've got the world's knowledge at our fingertips, but we're getting dumber.

Name a game with a 10/10 soundtrack.

We have three dilemmas. Which, considering it's only half of the potential dilemmas, doesn't seem too bad, but it's yet another year where we can't put breakables on the tree and the shatter proof guarantee of the other ornaments gets thoroughly tested.

The Pirates of Dark Water. They canceled it while Ren had only about half the treasures. Taught me how unfair life can be when I tuned in one Saturday morning and it wasn't there. It was ahead of its time for its animation, and went for a continuing plot over episodic adventures.

The only soundtracks I'd put in contention with it are Xenogears, Chrono Cross, and Final Fantasy VI, and the first two of those are composed by the same guy, Yasunori Mitsuda.

What game got you through a hard time?

Suikoden V. I was going through a world of drama when I came across a used copy of this one at a closing Blockbuster in 2009. I own the first one, so this seemed an easy choice, and being able to disappear into this world every night made the days bearable.

FF Tactics introduced me, late in life, to strategy RPGs. Triangle Strategy is among my favorites of modern entries to the subgenre. It graphically brings you back to FF Tactics while using modern tech to bring the world to life. The gameplay is extremely solid.

I discovered Suikoden V at a pivotal time in my life, and it allowed me a nightly escape from daily drama. It's not an RPG that redefined the genre, but it does really well as a Suikoden sequel and pays tribute to the first two games while doing its own thing.

If there's a such thing as a comfort game, Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle is it for me. I have a retro console setup, and if I've had a crap day and just want to play something to distract my mind for a few hours, this is what I pop in the NES.

Suikoden V is a game I came across at a pivotal time in my life and it gave me a nightly escape from the daily drama. Many Suikoden fans view it as a lesser game in the series, but to me, it brought the series back to familiar roots while still availing of newer tech. It's a great RPG for what it is

Final Fantasy VI is easily my favourite game ever, and nothing outside of Chrono Trigger comes close for me. I already loved fantasy stories as a kid, and tried to play a few RPGs as rentals, but I was too young to really figure them out. I aged into VI at the right time, and it hooked me on RPGs.

So the Fall of Troy needs a television series made by Taika Waititi... He can even call it "Our Horse Means Death".

I suppose I should mention my books here at some point. All are available in eBook format. If you like fantasy that's less about magic and more about growth and reality, then my stuff might be of interest.
