I went without for a year. It was an interesting experiment. Amazing in most ways. Massively burdensome in very few ways where mobile usage was basically a requirement to engage.

I was a recipient of an H1-B and neither I nor my institution could have afforded that fee. We barely could afford it as it was.

What worries me most is not the message these people send young men, but it is the message they send young women about what to expect and hope for in men. They're conditioning both men and women to value toxic and gross traits.

I met my stepdaughter when she was 15. I always thought that the primary responsibility I had beyond the obvious ones of love and care, was to show her a more positive version of what men can be and for me, that was being sensitive, smart, caring, and the polar opposite of the Andrew Tate bullshit.
