Killing wildlife is never the solution, protecting and restoring biodiversity is - and addressing the real drivers of collapsed fish populations, like overfishing, pollution and climate change.
🚨 #Cormorant Killing Proposed!

Today, EIFAAC (part of FAO) dropped its draft European Cormorant “Management” Plan, and it’s grim. What’s in it?

Coordinated culling and oiling are among the suggested measures.

Random targets. No goal. No clear metrics. Just killing.

Very interesting and shows again that you have to look behind the curtain when it comes to the discrepancy between public appearances and actual action.
Not surprise to see #Europêche as one offender.

“To go to the sea is synonymous with letting go. It could be lying on a beach or somebody handing you a cocktail. For somebody else, it could be a wild, empty coast. But there is this really human sense of: ‘Oh, look, there’s the sea’ – and the shoulders drop.”
