Really enjoyed day 1 of my #QualitativeAI course. Fab engaged & thoughtful students prepared to critically engage with when #GenAI is not appropriate for #QualitativeReseaech as well as when, why and how it might be. Ethics questions high on the agenda and great to hear a variety of perspectives.

Today I'm writing about the role of #CAQDAS tools in achieving and demonstrating quality in #QDA and am reminded of this quote by the great Clive Seale. Written more than 25 years ago but still very true...

Four days of #NVivo training and I’m a bit frazzled but looking at some of the feedback it seems worth it. Ask what can be improved and they tell you how good it was. 😀 #LoveMyJob #LoveTeaching #Qualitative

I bought this book a while ago and finally have the space on a long train journey today to begin reading it. The best introduction to a book I’ve read for ages. Must read. Thank you @simonlindgren.bsky.social

Last week I gave a workshop on AI in Qual analysis. We discussed what “methodologically appropriate uses” means springboarding great discussions. There’s no one answer, but many considerations. And as @drhelenkara.bsky.social taught me “ethics are everywhere” .

Reading an article where the research was done is pretty cool. 😎 Not enough publications on how #qualitative methods are enacted via the use of digital tools so this is a great read if you’re interested in Grounded Theory and the use of #CAQDAS

The past few days I’ve been chatting with a #qualitative scholar and methodologist that I hold in the highest esteem, from whom I’ve learned so much : Pat Bazeley. Made me think of other significant influences on the theory + practice of my qual work. What are yours? (Pic shared with consent)
