I have been talking (IRL) about the growing empathy gap between the two parties. The conservative people I’ve talked to about this have always found it suspect.

(Their lack of empathy is also why there is no good conservative art)

what really kills me on this is that the majority of Americans didn’t know USAID existed until 3 weeks ago and what they do know about it now are pure right wing talking points
Those Who Say (X) Agency Should Be Eliminated:

DOGE: 25%
USAID: 21%
DOE: 17%
IRS: 13%
FEMA: 11%

EPA: 8%
CDC: 7%
CFPB: 7%
ICE: 5%
FBI: 4%
NWS: 2%
DOD: 1%

USAID funding for 2025 prioritized countering China by offering strategic infrastructure alternatives to PRC-led initiatives and by strengthening alliances through economic, diplomatic, and security investments. It's not near enough, but it's something.

They’re why dems lost. Each of these moments—the people want to see the dems stand up like they did today in front of the treasury. Dems need to protest in front of every building when trump tries to dismantle an institution. Dems might not win all battles but we need/want to see them try!
