A win for Tchiroma would surprise many (me included) that saw Biya's regime as too established to lose. But for now it is too early to call. Cameroon's electoral body ELECAM has until the 27th of October to announce the official results, so let's stay tuned 5/5

With today's decision to not allow the candidature of either candidate from MANIDEM it seems like Kamto's hope for the presidency are once more put on hold.

In a twist of events, someone else got presented by MANIDEM, a former high ranking party official that had seemed to be out of the picture.
With these two standing claims Kamto as well as the second candidate were not on the initially approved candidate list and the case hit the court 6/

What happened?
The easiest way to become candidate for the presidential elections is the nomination from one of the in the National assembly represented parties. Problem Kamto's MRC boycotted the last législatives in 2020.

Chairman Joshua Oshi leads the party since 2023. This Congress will officially elect him as candidate for the upcoming elections to put him against the long standing president Paul Biya.

While the party is far away from it's dominant role in the 1990 under Chairman John Fru Ndi, it is still well connected and present in #Cameroon, this shows in the over 2.500 delegates who join the Congress from all over the country
