It should not be necessary, but if the RT candidates are not prepared to be honest about their agenda and their backers the Quick Vote option takes away the risk of accidentally voting for one of them.

When reading the candidate bios it is noticeable that the Restore Trust candidates are typically very 'shy'.
Sometimes there are clues to their identity, but for some reason they seem reluctant to be honest and actually state that they are RT candidates.

Absolutely. It is also being reported (by British Transport Police) that the most seriously injured casualty on the train was an LNER employee:

"Detectives have reviewed the CCTV from the train and it is clear his actions were nothing short of heroic and undoubtedly saved many people’s lives"

A movie you've seen more than seven times with a gif
three men are standing next to each other on top of a hill . one of the men is holding a sword .
Alt: A GIF from the film Princess Bride where the villain keeps describing the actions of the hero as 'inconceivable'.

Not entirely sure about that - we used to celebrate Halloween back in the 1970s in a rural part of the Midlands.

No trick or treat, but we used to carve turnips and put them out in the garden with tea lights in.

Celebrated November 5th as well.

But according to the UK gov website a provisional driving licence is not a valid form of ID (scroll to the bottom):

A quick Google would suggest some organisations will accept a provisional licence as proof of ID, but some won't.

In some ways that's a relief. Our local (Tory) councillor usually concerns himself with bin collections and the smooth running of the village fete. It was a shock when he put a eulogy to CK online, accompanied by broken heart emojis.

My first reaction was despair, but maybe education is possible.

Lots in Portsmouth (and I don't mean the Naval base), and on the bridges over the M27.

Labour need to put the spotlight on Reform's performance in office (MPs and councils), but more importantly start improving people's lives so that voting for Reform seems like a risky thing to do.
September 6, 2025 at 9:27 AM
One theme I keep seeing online is along the lines of 'the other parties have been rubbish, let's give Reform a go'.

Arguably as with Brexit - if people feel traditional politics / politicians are doing nothing for them or making their lives worse why not vote Reform?

I assume Mr and Mrs Sooknanan didn't expect their daughter to enter the legal profession.

Certainly one of those times nominative determinism doesn't quite work out.

And don't forget the politicians with 'legitimate concerns' who are 'just asking questions'

A good counter point to the rose tinted spectacle wearers wishing to return to the 'good old days'.

Things aren't perfect today, but it is clear from lived experience that they have improved.
