Yeah, it's certainly not the money that's the driver for all of this. I've had so much fun this year getting involved with various digs, projects, short course, and a range of organisations. Still no idea where I'm heading, but definitely enjoying the journey!

All kinds, really. But it was a light-hearted statement, as most have been really supportive and helpful after the initial "Are you bonkers?" look.

Thanks! The amount of quizzical looks I get from archaeologists when they hear that I'm trying to pivot to a career in archaeology in my mid-40's has made me question it a few times. But landscape archaeology is definitely some sort of addiction!

Same here! At a dig this summer, the archaeologist was showing me the plough marks in the section, and I was convinced she was joking.

To give a variety of vertical sections across the site, rather than just the ones at the edge of the wider trench. Helps give more detail to the various layers across the site.
