I’m ridiculously proud to share that I’m starting a new position as Headteacher at @kimichischool.bsky.social!

The journey I have been on, under the expert guidance of Executive Head Sally Alexander has been an honour and the adventure of a lifetime.

Genuinely thrilled to have co-written an article for Issue 24 of Impact from @collegeofteaching.bsky.social alongside @scottinghatt.bsky.social and @mradamkohlbeck.bsky.social

Last weekend, I was honoured to have been one of the recipients of the BCC Awards for Arts and Culture 2025 in recognition of my contribution through my work as an educator and author.

I’m sorry but this is horrific. ~2100 being hit, ~5900 verbally abused not to mention the ~1900 fearing for their safety.

This is crazy and completely unsustainable.

What part does this play in our retention crisis?

Still gathering my thoughts about #TDaPEManchester

But, for now, here’s a couple of shots @scottinghatt.bsky.social took during mine and @mradamkohlbeck.bsky.social’s talk on vulnerable leadership

Huge thanks to @kieran-m-ed.bsky.social for the opportunity

A slight moment, if I can …

Surely the best part about being an author is seeing young people dressing up as a character you created for World Book Day.

It's such an odd yet wonderful feeling to physically see the impact you might have had

My first #TDaPE and I get to do it with my @edupulseco.bsky.social buddy, @mradamkohlbeck.bsky.social

Get your tickets now to support an exception cause, but also to hear about a tool we’re developing to evaluate your own vulnerability

With lots of events coming up, I thought I'd make it clear that I am indeed available as a guest speaker for panels, conferences and events.

My areas of interest are educational leadership, governance, vulnerable and authentic leadership, music, SEND and safeguarding.

Raising a glass to leaders everywhere, especially those I have come to know through this platform.

However, Sally Alexander MBE, founder & HT of @kimichischool.bsky.social, gets my biggest shout-out as she continues to be a huge inspiration to us all on our leadership journeys

This response to the news that Cynthia Erivo will play Jesus Christ in the Hollywood Bowl concert version is quite possibly exceptionally brilliant.

There is relational link to the work of Cornell et al. (2022). I propose an alignment of thinking between Hyde’s self-reflection and Cornell et al.’s dimensions of vulnerability, to present a potential tool for teachers to use self-reflection to enhance their vulnerability:

Hyde (2024) found that despite intense personal insights requiring some level of philosophical phenomenology, this lack of ability isn’t a restrictive factor if teachers are able to record their thoughts as shown in below to guide their reflection:
February 18, 2025 at 1:31 PM
A brief study by Cornell et al. (2022) into the vulnerability of coastal hazards revealed an insight that could be applied to educational leadership. Their concept was a three-dimensional construct of vulnerability, in that they defined it in three connected concepts

Spent the day reading and researching the latest in motivation theory for mine and @mradamkohlbeck.bsky.social’s next book.

It’s been fascinating bringing Maslow & Herzberg together with new work by Santana-Monages et al (2025).

Only a few copies of my children’s book left on Amazon!

Excellent to read to 5-7 year olds and for 8-10 year olds on their own. Perfect for schools looking for inclusive fiction around neurodiversity :)
