Fine words, Pep, but if you truly have a problem with those horrors, perhaps you shouldn't be working for the state that's arming the RSF and deliberately prolonging the killing in Sudan.

One thing most of these tech oligarchs have in common is that they mostly got lucky with one idea just before or just after the dotcom bubble burst, and they've coasted on that success ever since. They mostly grow through buyouts rather than innovation. Yet they're treated as oracles and sages.
zuckerberg has set billions of dollars on fire on gibberish and copycat garbage, can't competently manage the scale of his primary business, has zero ethics or original ideas, and can't innovate his way out of a paper bag

yet U.S. "business journalism" never makes any of that clear

The rage he puts into that line still give me goosebumps.
In two days time it's the 30th anniversary of Common People. The greatest UK single of my lifetime. Told me in no uncertain terms that my privilege made me a tourist.

An empathetic, understanding, frequently broke and broken tourist. But a tourist.

And it's an absolute banger. What a record.

Really good thread on a media and political system that sees an excellent drama like Adolescence, and promptly bends over backwards to take the most dunderheaded, dogbrained inspiration from it.
How am I STILL seeing "There needs to be more parental oversight of social media use" takes in response to Adolescence
