On a tour led by the Soil Health Initiative, an effort between WSU, the state Department of Agriculture, and the state Conservation Commission. South of Wenatchee we’re learning how KMO Orchard uses compost to produce bigger, firmer cherries and “working with nature rather than against it.” #GoCougs

Doing the Cougs’ work in the daring & decisive 42nd Legislative District and the endearing & engaging 40th District. The park is named for the honorable Harriet Spanel, who spent a dozen years in the Legislature through 2009. It’s marvelous to be reminded of her again. #GoCougs

I’ve gotten to do a lot of cool things in my time at WSU, but serving on the advisory committee that produced a slate of finalists seeking to be our 12th President has been among the greatest of honors.
We don’t do this often. WSU has had only nine presidents since 1893.
