Was at the top of the road over to Applecross today when this fella appeared out of the gloom. Seemed totally un-phased by my presence and happily carried on feeding.

The drive from Cumbria over to Northumberland today was well worth it. The Night Heron performed well and at least 5 Roseate Terns at Newbiggin. The icing on the cake though was the White-winged Tern at Druridge, what a bird.
