There are quite a few important methodological papers by Aiken, West, Mackinnon, and even Jacob Cohen that have modest citation counts.

The problems with titles is they’re absurdly formal in Indian culture which was my reference point. In America they work fine

My interpretation is that it's a way to get around using their first names, which would signal you're a peer of theirs.
