My Sunday morning long run was more of a run-walk-climb. Most of the 12 miles was on very challenging trackless terrain, up to Beinn Bhan and back down to Gairlochy.

Away from the loch side, I didn't see a single other person, but met plenty of deer, birds, toadstools and heather...

I'm following up on this story which was kicked off by Gayle Uyagaqi Kabloona an Inuit artist. The locals are less than impressed it seems.

There is a long history of marginal and tenuous record claims in the polar regions, and this latest highly publicized journey indicates that this trend will continue.

British Adventurer Makes Questionable Arctic Record Claim » Explorersweb
If you add a few kilometers at either end of a well-traveled tourist route, does that make it an original traverse? One UK adventurer seems to think so.

A trip down to that there London village for a meeting of the North East All Party Parliamentary Group, and an opportunity to bang on about bus services (or the lack of them) again.

The Berghaus stand really illuminates the hall at Slide & OTS Winter - great work by the team. If you're at the show, pop along and say hello. We're easy to find!

Heading home, I bumped into Mick Fowler at Chesterfield Station. We had a good chat about Yawash Sar, future objectives, fell running, dentists, the latest Berghaus kit, and Mick's MEF lecture with Victor Saunders at the RGS next March. A very useful catch up, and it's always great to see Mr Fowler!

It's been busy at ISPO, with the European Outdoor Group and Berghaus. Word is out about the appointment of Christian Schneidermeier as the EOG's new director.

Meanwhile, Berghaus has done a great job (again) of presenting the brand and its latest products. Some colours really 'pop'!

A rare night out for all of the Linesys together, in place at The Glasshouse and ready for the mighty Bellowhead.

Samuel's excitement about the snow this morning may just be surpassed by his anticipation for seeing the group for a second time (now that he's dried out).

My annual selfie at Kendal Mountain Festival with icon, legend and all round great person Sir Chris Bonington. It's always great to catch up with Chris and the Berghaus team at this very special tribal gathering.

Ahead of potential wintry weather, Mrs Lines and I enjoyed a lovely autumnal walk with Berry, who is a big fan of noisily ploughing through fallen leaves.

Having listened to the teams belt out those national athems (genuinely, fair play to them for their gusto), I have a suggestion for Gareth Malone's next project.
