Every day, it becomes easier to believe that Jeffries is a GOP plant

They couldn't have found a more submissive, enabling minority leader if they'd spent five years grooming one
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

I say this every time I read @brianphillips.bsky.social, but... This is so good.

Normally I'm ok with writers getting paid for their work but I'm not singing up to Lizza's substack.

As much as I want read it, I don't want to *encourage* this sort of thing.

Incredible how much Fifa has fucked up the global game. Nothing but venal greed
FIFA has raised ticket prices for dozens of 2026 World Cup games, in some cases by more than 20%.

Most upper-deck tickets to the World Cup final are now $5,055 or $3,450.

Increases for two of three USMNT games.

I can't tell if he's evil or just a fucking idiot (could be both).

Being "able to go out & negotiate their own insurance" is no help when your have a weak negotiating position such as a life threatening illness or pre-existing condition.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Emailed both my senators asking them to take steps to replace Schumer as Minority Leader.

Feels like yelling into a chasm, a bit, but who knows. Maybe it'll help

C'mon man. What are you even for?

"I will not support [the thing that got enough Dem votes to pass even though Im supposed to be in charge of them]"

I really hope that plausible deniability does not prevent a primary challenge.
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

I dunno, it feels like Dem leadership totally wanted to cave and just found the 8 least-exposed senators to do it.

Cowards
None of the Dem Senators (or Democratic-caucusing) who voted yes on the CR are worried about reelection:

• Dick Durbin – IL – Retiring 2026

• Catherine Cortez Masto – NV – Up 2028

• Jacky Rosen – NV – Up 2030

• John Fetterman – PA – Up 2028

• Maggie Hassan – NH – Up 2028

It's incredible that the Democrats at the national level are so bad at doing the thing that is the whole point of their existence. Such a craven, cowardly bunch

She could have easily said "The Democratic Party is a big tent party with room for anybody looking of reduce the burden on working families, improve the economy and help the marginalized" but instead...
Asked about Republican attacks on Mamdani, Dem congresswoman Debbie Dingell replies: "I'm going to focus on the election of Abigail Spanberger, who is clearly a moderate, as is Mikie Sherrill. Both women that had strong military and national intelligence background..."

There should be consequences for outlets and people who say this shit. As soon as it's out there, a subset of people will believe it and steadfastly refuse to listen to updates, and it's dangerous
WSJ just retracted its report that the shooter’s ammo was engraved with “transgender and anti-fascist ideology.”

It smelled like bullshit from the beginning, and every conservative who ran with it should be shamed into obscurity.
