I'm preparing to have my marriage dissolved on a federal level. Straight people don't ever have to think about such a horrible thing. I'll still be considered married at the state level, but we'll be losing all federal protections, privileges and tax benefits.

This really explains a lot. Not just here but also in the Israel/Palestine conflict, Russia, Hungary, and in many conflicts around the world. I think understanding this is key to understanding much in our world. Us vs Them!

So what are you reading right now? Are you investing in reading anything to help your sanity in these crazy times? I'm currently reading "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron. It's heavy on meditation, which we probably all need to practice right now!

I've really been trying to decide what to do here on Bluesky. Honestly, I don't want to get into the mire of the constant anti-Trump stuff that is here. I may post a FEW things like that from time to time, but that's not what I want my account to be about....

I had been looking forward to visiting Wat Umong because it is unlike any other temple in Chiang Mai. The actual temple is located inside tunnels and is over 700 years old. Up above the tunnels stands the pagoda. And that broken Buddha head sits in front of the temple. Amazing place!

It has been two weeks. Shock, anger, grief, and fear have taken over. The Trump Clown Possee and fear of the future have consumed our thinking and our lives. Social Media posts seem to be one negative meme after another about the Trump Administration. The future looks bleak in America.
