Disappointing to see a comparison between two different surveys and the totalling up of a population figure from the GSGB numbers in this study.

I think this is combining data from two different studies

Prof Sturgis on the 2.5% pg rate study:
'there is a non-negligible risk that they substantially over-state the true level of gambling and gambling harm in the population.'

🚨 Gambling Commission figures just out, when adjusted for inflation, show £3.2bn wiped off online horse racing turnover since affordability checks came in.

I don't think anyone is seriously comparing smoking with having a bet on the horses. Around 75,000 deaths a year attributed to smoking in the UK. Happy to be corrected, but I haven't heard of any attributed to betting on horses.
