One of my most anticipated reads for 2025:

Ghengis Khan and The Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford.

Weatherford highlights how Khan was both a ruthless, but also a visionary.

Have you read this one? What were your thoughts?

Viking History is one of my favorite historical periods.

The Wolf Age by Tore Skeie is a book I think anyone who loves Viking/Nordic history will love.

What Viking history books would you recommend?

Feels timely to have purchased this book🧐

#BookSky is thriving, and I plan on being vocal about history, and the critical and vital importance books like this have.

The books I’m currently reading:

The Poppy War started off pretty slow, but took off about 50 pages in, and I’ve been glued to it ever since.

Hundred Years’ War is quite dense out of the gates, but extremely informative.

Not too far into Shadow yet.

What are you reading in Jan?

Just finished up with ‘How The Word Is Passed’ by @clintsmithiii.bsky.social as my first read in my 25 in 2025 challenge.

A no-doubt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read - highly recommend adding it to your tbr.

I’m now on to The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine by Rashid Khalid.

What are you currently reading?

It will never be acceptable to allow January 6th to be forgotten, rewritten, misinterpreted, or accepted as normal.

A day of destruction and desecration to the very freedoms and liberties our country stands on were threatened.

Tolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society.

#BookSky Christmas Day check-in!

I’ve added what most consider “must reads” that I’ve been putting off in favor of other reads to my collection.

Already started on “How The Word Is Passed” by Clint Smith, and am loving it. Will likely restart Valiant Ambition.

Have you read any of these titles?

That's what you get when corporations would rather profit
off our pain than improve the country. They use our suffering as a way to get seize control, all while oppressing through constant dependency so that their wealth can continue to grow.

Lindsey M Burke, of The Heritage Foundation, recently co-wrote an article about declining birth rates in the US.

Burke, who holds a Masters AND PhD, and recently became a mother in 2022, at 39, advocates for government incentives for continuing education to help with birth rates.

Hypocrisy reigns

The most recent Pod Save America episode that breaks down Biden pardoning his son details layers of feelings I believe we all share in regards to not so much the decision itself, but the reasoning and timing behind it.

Biden couldn’t have done this in a worse way, or at a worse time.

WHOA!

That Ethics Committee report must contain some CAREER-ENDING information.

For Gaetz, Trump’s hand-picked nominee for AG to withdraw his name from consideration is huge.

You’ll take a win anyway you can get it with this incoming administration.

HUGE news here.

Extremely sobering text I came across during my morning read.

I just simply can’t fathom how people don’t see what is right in front of them.

- Takeover, Hitler’s Final Rise To Power by Timothy W. Ryback

I don’t post this to be controversial, but I think more of this needs to be accepted within Democratic circles.

The willingness to not fully commit to blanket acceptance just for the sake of acceptance, while still offering a space of support and acknowledgment.

Trump confirming on Truth Social that he’s prepared to declare a National Emergency to militarize his mass deportation efforts, which he consistently calls his ‘mandate’ couldn’t be further from what the American People actually want.

It’s our job to hold them all accountable.

This type of bully politics being fleshed out by DT’s social media puppets who speak as if they have true authority is inflammatory beyond comprehension, and the sad part is the current power of the GOP leaves little to do about it.
