Excellent father. Recovering politics and government guy. Suffering baseball fan. Here for history, Star Trek, and ridiculous takes on current events.
I sometimes think “authenticity” is oversold, but you do not have to grow up in Wickliffe, KY to understand country. I don’t know where these folks come from, but it isn’t this earth.

It’s the analytics game in songwriting. I’d be shocked if there are not databases of words and phrases designated as driving interest.

I don’t think SNL skits have that many fathers.

The thought I keep coming back to is if you wrote a history of the US Navy from 1990 to today, the first chapter probably wouldn't be titled Desert Storm, it would be Tailhook. And the last chapter wouldn't be about the Red Sea, it would be Fat Leonard.

“Try That In A Small Town” could have been cobbled together from CPAC sound bites and Toby Keith’s napkin scratchings.

I’m sure Ted Bundy was good at math. I know for a fact that Unabomber was a math prodigy. They turned out just fine.

Granted, I was in undergrad during the Clinton administration, but my recollection is that we were considered witness readers and writers than the folks who came before us in the 80’s. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I imagine it’s a mixed bag.

My wife complained for years that the theories employed in the classroom were not getting the job done. In her words, either we’re all incompetent, or the approved method isn’t working.

Rod needed a team of psychologists decades ago. He went into religious extremism instead.

Been hanging out with my kids?

We had a few regulars who would get loaded late at night and leave multiple voicemails. I won’t lie. It was must-listening in the AM.

Rod is so full of shit you can smell him a mile before he’s seen.

We are back at in January. Next time, they will not have as many arrows in their quiver. That extends Dem options.

Murfreesboro, I believe.

The first photo was taken in 1850; the latter in 1862. A man whose service spanned 1812-1863. Little remembered today, he was 77 when the Civil War began. A key figure of the nineteenth century army.

I’m holding out hope.

There’s some video going around of a staffer (I don’t know the office) mocking a voicemail. I’m praying it’s not real.

Holy grail stuff right there. A friend’s older brother had one. It was deeply unchristian of me, but I coveted it.

Your job is sit there and take it. They have a right to complain. They don’t have a right to threaten you or your office, but there’s protocol for that. If your boss is in the news it will get “interesting.” You remain poised, respectful, and bite the ever loving shit out of your tongue.
