Countering influence ops. Spomenik enjoyer. Peugeot 308 abuser. SJJ/NYC.
Looking back at my HS education in the US, you basically had to elect to take a (modern) Middle East history course – despite the US's disproportionate role in 20th/21st century history there. This always comes to mind whenever I run into someone who thinks this is all happening in a vacuum.

Consensus seems to be that it is airborne instead of ranger, which makes it the second most try hard thing an ice agent could have on their helmet.
Is that guy wearing a fucking ranger tab on the back of his helmet?
ICE is very proud of having captured a construction worker wearing an American flag bandana.

Anti-ICE protesters are in the hundreds still at federal plaza. Many more joining from the permit protest dispersing, it’s 9PM pretty much and crowd still lively.

Truly feels like 2020. Crowd is growing fast!

At no point in this entire article of 16 paragraphs does ABC mention that another cop killed this cop by shooting her in the back. Nor does it mention the name of the cop who killed this cop. Nor does it mention that the civilians involved never fired at them.

ABC might as well be state media.

The LAPD must be so pissed that administration seems to think that the marines and the national guard are better at shooting unarmed civilians than them.

This new "tough" persona rollout is particularly cringe when you remember that DHS was not the first choice of most of its employees, but something they had to rebrand themselves for after not getting into the FBI (who also suck).
The official DHS account makes a post that suggests they want to disappear the Menswear Guy, whose posts are so magisterial that they regularly eviscerate powerful politicians, because he told his story of his mother carrying him into the USA from Canada when he was a baby. Ghoulishly giddy stuff.

Separatist Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik is intensifying his defiance of the country’s constitution, its peace accord, and the international community, even after a recent arrest warrant.

Law Prof. Ehlimana Memišević writes of the fears of war survivors like herself:
Bosnian Serb Separatist Leader’s Defiance of Arrest Warrant Stirs Wartime Memories
A war survivor says the response to Dodik's separatism must be firm and unequivocal for the sake of regional and European security.

The r/Telegram subreddit is some of the most unintentionally funny posting on the internet IMO. It feels like 90% "is this legit?" posts with screenshots of the most obvious honeypot scam messages possible. The other 10% being CSAM merchants/seekers cryptically asking if they're "in trouble."

🧵 Yesterday I shared my views on how disordered discourse has captured the US state and the risk of that happening elsewhere, but I don’t want to leave you hanging without proposing a solution.
What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.
