www.cbo.gov/publication/.... CBOs latest numbers have the deficit was smaller but the debt increased over the last year. A smaller deficit means that the money coming in was less than the money going out, but that difference decreased. Borrowing increased to cover the difference.

Durlauf has been talking about this for over 30 years. That's a long time for not much. Going into grad school in the mid-90s it seemed super interesting. Much less so after having Durlauf explain it.
