"2001: A Space Odyssey The Board Game? How the feck is that supposed to work?" I turned it over and saw it's one player as HAL versus the others as the crew. Literal laugh out loud in the game store. The box says HAL's motivation is the importance of the mission. The designers get it.

Friends, do you think if there had been a "Songs That Excite the White Folk" playlist in 1989 that it would have featured "Funky Cold Medina?" Of course it would have been distributed on cassette.

But the rakshasa is one of the most fascinating AD&D monsters, so it's got that going for it. Which is nice.

All that said, I love 3d6 as a resolution mechanic. I think you mix 3d6 with a Wild Die like WEG/Opend6, and simpler skills like 5e and, baby, you got a stew going.
