The growing momentum of EVs globally is evident in their rising market share. In 2024, EVs accounted for 21% of global light-duty passenger vehicle sales, up from 18% in 2023.

But to keep up the momentum, policymakers at all levels of government must continue supporting the domestic EV market so the U.S. can close the gap with China in production and sales.
