At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

Black units fought for this country at a time when they could return home and be lynched for wearing their uniforms.

This is what this country has never dealt with: racism. Plain and simple.
Removing a monument honoring Black US soldiers has nothing to do with DEI. It’s erasure of history and it’s straight-up racism.

The MAGA coalition is suddenly in deep disarray, and obviously the Epstein stuff is gas on that fire.

That against the backdrop of NoKings, White House demolition, the Tuesday elections, tariff holiday impact, SNAP defending, and aviation chaos?

There's never been a better time to strike.

“Better vote with them so that they don’t take away our ability to vote against them”

Some insane hill to die on. You don’t really have the ability to vote against them if you don’t vote against them dipshit. They just get political cover.
Heaven forbid the Republicans get rid of the filibuster…

I think public defenders and true journalists should pay attention and use this.

Fuck the police.
New: a judge has ruled that Flock surveillance images are public records that can be requested by anyone. Shows that at least in some cases, police cannot withhold the data collected by its surveillance systems.

A Washington judge said images taken by Flock cameras are "not exempt from disclosure" in public record requests.

We’ve seen enough excuses, delays, and coverups to last a lifetime. This new evidence is damning, how long will Republicans keep protecting Trump?

It’s time to release the Epstein files NOW.
🚨BREAKING: Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes.

Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.

Headed to DHS to attempt to correct one of the more devastating I.C.E. kidnappings I’ve encountered.

I put our chance of success at about 25% because ICE and DHS are straight-up not following the law.

Could use all the luck and support you can offer:

This is why I’ve moved my funds to international indexes. The US market is poised not only for slow growth but a complete collapse.
International stocks are outperforming the S&P 500 by the widest margin in 16 years.

The eagles, where players win super bowls or just retire. Sometimes both!
I’m told Jaire is contemplating retirement but for now is stepping away to think through his next steps.

Sources tell me and @mikesilver.bsky.social the Eagles have kept conversations private over the last few days.
Eagles CB Jaire Alexander has informed the team he is stepping away from the team to focus on getting right physically and mentally, per source.

The 28-year-old is contemplating retirement.

It’s notable that two of the leading tech industries in America are just companies that buy GPUs and burn them out for a *chance* at money.

Neither produce a product with tangible value.

Both are causing spikes in energy prices.

Both have the ear of the president.
From @candicebernd.bsky.social in our magazine: A Texas Observer analysis found since 2021, at least 60 cryptomines have been developed or are under construction in at least 33 counties statewide. Experts worry our grid, and water supply, can't handle the load.
Crypto's Cryptic Texas Takeover
State regulators don't want you to know about the 60-plus Bitcoin mines guzzling public water and electricity—even though consumers are already paying the price.

Instead of folding like cheap chairs, Democrats should have forced the GOP to end the shutdown by killing the filibuster. Holding onto the archaic, antidemocratic tradition doesn't help them stop fascism, it makes them complicit to it.

Running update. 3 weeks to #cim!

The metric I’ve been watching is EF (efficiency) and is power (W) / heart rate. The chart below is a 42d moving average for runs below 75% effort. Moving up and to the right means my heart beats are producing more power!

Really neat metric.

Bari Weiss is literally eliminating standards at CBS. If there was a unit called "Actual Journalism" she would cut that too.
“I’ve been hearing that standards will be eliminated or severely cut back. Bari has told people that she wants to get rid of standards and is shocked that they have so much power. She also asked openly, ‘What’s the point of standards?’” one CBS source said.
