It has been such a taxing day but i got this from a friend. I was part of this pictorial for Ladlad for pride. I would have preferred the sobriquet “Gutter Gay” instead of just “gay.” Sounds boring. Pwede rin “becky lou blanco.” Apparently this is part of an exhibit at a café in QC?

Stumbled into a work I did in Texas. It was hidden in an envelope. The original photo showed a destroyed Manila Cathedral after the Philippine-American war. Then i let it engulf by a jungle and the archipelago.

‪I stumbled into a stash of photos I have not seen in years.

I love this AI cartoon because it is honest enough to (1) depict Mandarambongbong as a hapless monster figure, and my favorite (2) it is honest enough to depict the DDS as rabid, crazed mobs with pitchforks. Because that is who they really are.

Could not sleep yet again. So I worked on a 1/4-sized illustration board I bought back in 2018, before I flew to the US. I saw some prints of American colonial archives of a murdered Filipino rebel (look at the upper portion) and a demonstration of an incarceration.

WIP. A detail on a current art piece….After so many failures with silkscreens the past few weeks, tonight had the perfect exposure and the perfect emergence of the image.

“Binding spell for later”
Failed serigraph print with Mixed media and insomnia

What to do when you have failed silkscreens and awkward serigraphy? Pour your excessive nervous-angry energy onto the print. Try to remember what you love doing when you were nine years old and do it on that pothole of frustration. Try not to be defeated.

While watching the grilling of social media personalities by Congress, I drew this using my recently-discovered drawing app Krita. This is not affiliated with any media outlet as i was practicing using Krita. I am loving this drawing app. I am still rather clunky. Needs work.

P Cannot sleep because of anxiety brought on by being kept up in the air by my dissertation adviser. So, I just tried this drawing software named Krita for the first time. I like the smoothness of the inking. It's a free app, too!

Giving this online dating another chance. I was asked, I answered. I think i will delete this app tomorrow. I feel foolish to have wasted data. Ah well, hope springs eternal. The trick is not to drown from said spring.

Phi Kappa Phi is the prestigious honors society that you get invited to. You cannot apply for membership. Well, well, well does this mean I’m now part of the Greek letters club?! Am I civilized now? this is an indicator of academic excellence which is my primary directive as a Fulbright-CHED scholar

So….instead of land acknowledgment at the start of the symposium, do we growl at each other? Are deodorants disallowed here? It looks like a mostly white global north bearhood.

LOL. It's past 12 midnight here, and I was curious if my submissions were published. AND LOOK! From Duke University's Journal of Asian Studies! LOL, 2024 was a whirlwind year. I mean, I left the USA for the first time since 2018….
January 27, 2025 at 5:04 PM
I remember that I submitted an article for this peer-reviewed journal before I left the US. For months we had several exchanges regarding edits and revisions. Then, silence. I thought that was that. But i searched just now & lo and behold, my article is published! journaldialogue.org/issues/v11-i...

I just attended a wedding and hours later, I needed three giant mentholated patches. Third one’s at my ass cheek. I am deteriorating fast. Also, it will be a bitch to take these out as a more-hairy-than-the-usual-Filipino-dude.

My cousin’s wedding souvenir are leather goods. You can pick either a purse, a card holder or keychain. Then you can have them engraved with six characters. I picked a pink keychain and had this engraved.

Couldn’t sleep so I did a thing. Now my hands are filthy…and I have a wedding to attend in a few hours. Hope the ink stains wash off later in the shower.

I’m in the Philippines and I got this when I opened TikTok. Is it because I downloaded the app in the US years ago? Welp.
