There's a nice lil board available with tp4056, fully equipped with USB-C and all components for less than 2€ per piece.
You can't use the USB-C for data then, and the charger must support USB2.
But for my "I don't want to keep buying 100 different coin batteries for all the kids toys" it's perfect

What you'd want is a leverage point (red) further towards the middle of the cartridge underside, with a snug fit along the top/bottom (blue), that way the pads won't move that much and most of the leverage force (green) would transfer to the housing, if you catch my drift ;)
