How can it be a minority if my friends and I *constantly* experience this living in the Chicagoland area? I was at a brewery just last week when my waiter greeted me with "Fuck the White Sox" and then proceeded to proudly show me his Cubs tattoo, lol.

I can assure you this trope is 100% false yet endlessly repeated by Cubs fans. I've lost count of how many times I've been randomly harassed by Cubs fans just for wearing my Sox hat or jersey. I regret to inform you that your fans do in fact "give a shit" about the Sox.

I remember that game well. At least 2 of them were off lefty Jim Parque. Always had a soft spot for Mike Cameron ever since he was a Sox rookie. I was mad when they traded him, but they got Konerko for him so tough to complain!

I remember buying concert tickets at this location since it was a Ticket Master outlet. They would also host band concerts sometimes. I saw Seven Mary Three play an acoustic unplugged show there. Great music selection too but a little on the pricey side as I recall.

You let him go only AFTER he proves he can't do it, not before. This is my argument. 42 games as a regular in '24 doesn't tell you anything. If he is still stinking up the field in June or July, then you move on. Don't jettison a young guy with pedigree in Spring Training because of a bad audition

Declaring Vargas a bust after a 42 game sample is way too premature. Let him play after a full Spring Training, new workout regimen, and tweaks with the new coaches. Ramos has minor league options left. Vargas does not. If Vargas doesn't make the team, the Sox would lose him for nothing on waivers.

This is the correct take. I can't believe how many fans want to move on from Vargas already. He's a former top 100 guy with a good prospect pedigree. As you said, he's 100% the type of player that should get a long look.

Chronic health issues to Eloy, Tim Anderson, and Moncada ruined their careers and any chance of that core's sustainability. Over allocating free agent budget to bullpen arms in '21 and '22 combined with whiffing on drafting minor league depth proved to be the nail in the coffin.

It's such a spectacular waste of taxpayer money. ICE was already arresting criminals. This has always been about clearing out non-whites.

I wonder if some of them get there under the hope/fantasy that they'll be busting international drug criminals, but the reality is they end up sending Grandmas back to Mexico.
