Exactly this. Parenthood isn’t a moral upgrade.
I’ve never understood why “family” always gets used as the moral default. Rights belong to people, not to family structures.

Greater acceptance of happy childless single cat ladies (and dog moms, dad's, etc).
And, asking women "when are you going to finally find a husband, settle down and start a family? You're not getting any younger" is no longer socially acceptable.

I was always shamed by people that I don't like kids as I'm meant to be a "mother" but every woman is allowed to not like kids or be childfree just like how women are allowed to have kids and be mothers, women aren't baby machines they're human beings who have choices.

Who else here has chosen not to have children, just because you don’t want them? I just saw a great statistic that by the year 2030, 45% of women will be childfree by choice. WDNC what anyone thinks about the fact that my husband and I chose not to have children.

I honestly wouldn’t know that childfree-by-choice people are supposed to be misogynistic. For me it’s just a perfectly normal decision not to have children. And of course fathers are part of the picture too – it’s not just about mothers.
