Governor Youngkin has failed to join, but Virginia’s next governor could take a really important step here:

I wrote a thing about why Virginia’s next Governor should join a new group of governors working to protect public health despite the chaos from HHS and the White House.

Read it in today’s @richmond.com

I think about this like a lot - the most contextually, historically appropriate hope I’ve heard in a while, from TNC:

that silly little moment when you're trying to get the kids ready for a birthday party and you realize there's only enough time left for one parent to get showered and dressed:

This is what the American people voted for:

more expensive eggs and health insurance that’s marginally less convenient to get

The Georgia Medicaid program works great if you ignore the cost, participation and whole purpose of it.
February 23, 2025 at 2:40 PM
on a side note, states should try to use that argument to protect Medicaid

Maybe those oval office pressers with Elon Musk looming behind Trump aren't quite a masterful stroke of PR genius.

here's the thing - Dems did not lose the health debate

RFK Jr. is underwater in approval ratings and the most disliked Trump cabinet official

Dems are more trusted on health care

Dems lost the inflation debate.

And as Congress cedes its independence to the Exec Branch, that's all that matters.

We shouldn’t be timid in describing reality

Work requirements for Medicaid will get people killed.

Apparently writing an op-ed means people can assign you homework.

Was not aware of these rules. I’m learning, and growing.

I don’t know man, I think completely giving up on fellow human beings is a choice that we don’t have to make.

I wrote a thing to and about the place I grew up - southwest Virginia.

This region has the most at risk in this new Republican government

But also the best chance to defend the kids and families who need these programs.

Fascinating stuff from JPM in FierceHealthcare’s round-up.

Welcome to the bold new future of American health care - where robots deny claims at superhuman speeds and other robots appeal those denials at superhuman speeds.

That last one would be fun because in 2012’s NFIB v Sebelius case, John Roberts was BIG MAD about the feds suddenly cutting Medicaid funding to states

My cynicism of the Court knows no bottom now, but it’d be interesting to see how far this argument could go.
