‘Halal pizza and pierogi’ dispatch for people who love humans, culture, and spirit of justice that is our city, Chicago. 🧿🕊️🌻🍉
If we agree that ICE/BP raid of the South Shore building was wrong, then ignoring the plight of people who live there is twice as wrong. Instead of holding the management company & owner to account, let’s throw them out in the street in the middle of winter, why don’t we? Hell is hot.

Corporate caucus is out of touch with Chicago voters. Again.
Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration officially reviewed the Corporate Caucus proposal and rejected almost every idea as either unwise or unworkable.

The choice is clearer than ever:
Make billion-dollar corporations pay their share, not the people who keep this city running.

Justice for @ctulocal1.bsky.social Santa! Tell your alders to reinstate CSS / marginal head tax & fund youth jobs & community health & safety!
December 9, 2025 at 2:14 AM
Largest corporations got the biggest tax breaks under trump regime. They CAN and SHOULD pay a marginal CSS tax to fund community safety in Chicago! #ProtectChicagoBudget
To recap 2025 MAGA & Trump:

$2T in tax cancellation for 800 billionaires in Trump budget
•MAGA: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

$12B in corporate welfare for farms hurt by Trump tariffs
•MAGA: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Food stamps for hungry kids
•MAGA: SOCIALISM!🤬

Envy is a sin. But. Can’t help but feel envious that good people of Maryland had enough sense to elect an honorable man to be their senator. Maybe one day we could have that too.
Trump has been played over and over again by Putin.

From the summit in Alaska, to the 28-point plan that was a Trojan Horse for Putin's demands, to today — he has betrayed the cause of freedom in Ukraine.

We all want peace. He is prolonging the war and the suffering.

This. As our city alders side with the ultra rich corporations at the expense of their constituents & still have the nerve to call themselves Democrats. 🤢

Having to wake up to this bulls&t, I have so many questions for IL state sen. Sara Feigenholtz:
1. What century is this photo from?
2. Who asked for ‘more police in our neighborhoods’?
3. How is she leading the ‘fight against hate speech’ while making headlines for spewing racist bigotry online?
December 8, 2025 at 2:30 PM
Didn’t see any ‘efficiency proposals’ from our alders around zero tolerance towards cops who break the law. Since police budget is the single largest expenditure, imagine the savings & positive impact on improving trust & community safety. No takers?
One officer was accused of spreading a nude photo of a woman he knew.

Another was found responsible for acts of domestic violence and sexual assault.

In spite of their disciplinary records, the Chicago Police Department promoted both of them.

Chicago Promoted Two Police Officers After Investigators Found They Engaged in Sexual Misconduct
The Chicago Police Department’s promotions system allows officers’ disciplinary records to be ignored. Despite years of reform efforts, nothing has changed.

Ben is right. This budget battle is a proxy to the next mayoral election. Don’t sleep on the conservative slide in our city politics.

All politics are local. Find out what ward you’re in and Google your alder. What you learn may amuse you or shock you. Either way, these folks determine if the @mayorofchicago.bsky.social has a chance of advancing progressive agenda, & right now 26 of them are actively sabotaging it.
How do you know which ward you live in?

1. Go to the City of Chicago's Find Your Alderman page.
2. Enter your full street address in the provided search bar.
The tool will tell you your ward number and your local alderperson.

ICE was menacing people in Elgin today. Neighbors did a great job organizing & drawing attention onto themselves. In return, ICE teargassed residents & legal observers.
Feds gassed and tackled people in Elgin today, the same day Kristi Noem was in Chicago for a Christmas photo op, after a few weeks of relative quiet.

I'm remembering that old story about groundskeepers at Versailles who would only turn the palace fountains on when the king came by.

So embarrassing for all of us for allowing this travesty in our city. Kudos to the brave protesters.
The Christmas ceremony at Navy Pier continues with a wreath dedication, with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in attendance. Even over the speakers with micropohones, megaphone-equipped protestors across the street from Navy Pier are still audible.

Can someone please explain how then alderman & head of zoning committee Tunney got away with selling a worthless building for 10M six years ago & it’s still sitting there not bulldozed down? How is this not under investigation? He got to appoint his lackey & is still pulling the strings.

While corporate media is fuming at the progressive pro-community budget put forth by @mayorofchicago.bsky.social our local ward organizers are reminding alders who they are supposed to represent. It seems Ald. Lawson keeps voting with the ultra conservatives & ignoring his constituents. FAFO indeed.
Our alders are playing games with our communities health & safety because they think we are not playing attention. But we do & so does Santa. FAFO, corporate caucus alders.

Can someone explain to these people that Qur’an is literally the third book of the holy trilogy, following the Torah, & the Holy Bible? Islam is not some anti Christian religion. It’s a sequel clarifying the previous iterations recognizing the same one God. Google it for God’s sake.
On Piers Morgan, I addressed a woman running for Congress on the platform to deport & kill all Muslims. Yes, srsly.

As you watch, pls note how these attacks are not grounded in any form of fact, & how my responses are entirely based on facts & data.

Through Islam Today, I debunk anti-Muslim hate:

Burke is yet another DINO who snuck in on the ballot because most people don’t pay attention to local politics. This is the only power we have, people. Don’t give it up to the gross racists. It’s not just Burke, it’s half of the city council and most of Illinois state & federal elected reps.
NEW — This week marked the anniversary of Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke’s first year in office.

During her anniversary speech at the City Club, five demonstrators disrupted her, yelling phrases like “shame on you.”

Here’s why.

Reactionary shills like Burke who run as ‘wink-wink-nudge-nudge’ [gasp] Democrats should just come out and admit that they’re just Republicans without the rizz.

We should all get behind the 7500 South Shore residents. There has to be justice for them.
NEW — In response to a court-ordered evacuation, members of the 7500 South Shore Tenants Union are demanding more time and money for residents to leave the apartment complex and relocate.
