Heyford & Bicester Veterans Group meets every month to support Armed Forces veterans, reservists and their families.

Our Armed Forces Champion Cllr Rob Pattenden and housing officers regularly attend and today we were delighted to be joined by a group of Chelsea pensioners and Calum Miller MP.

We share our residents' anger about the illegal landfill at #Kidlington. The Environment Agency is investigating and will be in charge of arranging the clean-up. If you have any information that could assist their investigation, call their 24-hour hotline: 0800 807060.

The former agricultural land is being transformed into a floodplain grazing marsh with wetland features known as scrapes and footdrains. Other areas of the site will be reseeded using seeds from the adjacent Otmoor Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Wading birds such as lapwings, redshanks, and curlews will benefit from a new agreement between the council and @rspb.bsky.social.

Works are getting way to extend the RSPB’s existing site at Otmoor, creating the district’s second habitat bank, an area set aside for nature recovery.
