I am so proud of my word count this year. I have been writing on ao3 since 2021 and never surpassed 7k in a year (I was doing school/getting divorced/was depressed) so to suddenly do 42k is wild. I definitely owe a lot to my beta/writing friends 💜

The coast is clear. For now. He pulls the hood of his coat over his head and tucks his chin into his red scarf, already dampening from the moist air of his breath. He starts walking in the direction of home - his dorm is only eight blocks away, but they’re the long blocks of downtown Seoul. He almost always gets stopped. Jeon Jeongguk. The motherfucker’s motorcycle is parked right in front of the 7-11 across the street. Asshole. Jimin picks up his pace, tucking his face deeper into his scarf, skipping across the paving stones of the sidewalk, every molecule in his body jittering with the need to escape. The bell on the door of the 7-11 jangles as the door opens. Fuck. “PARK,” Jeongguk yells. Fuck fuck fuck. "Stop running, Park!" “Fuck,” he hears Jeongguk curse, before he hears the revving of his Harley. Shit. Jimin is running, his heavy breathing soaking his scarf, dodging the few other pedestrians on the streets, weaving between street signs and benches. Only a couple hundred meters until he can squeeze into the tiny alley between two apartment buildings on the next block. Even a motorcycle can’t fit in there. The drone of the Harley gets louder. Jimin runs harder, thankful that this is a busy street even at this time of night, with traffic slowing Jeongguk down. Thankful that he decided to study dance along with Chemistry. His scarf partially unravels from his neck, one end trailing behind him.
