It's ALIVE! My latest mix is done and ready for your ears. It's got dark wave, somber pop and a hint o' industrial. So if you dig Ministry, Cold Cave and Lords of Acid, have a listen, won't you? Cover art illustrated and animated by yours truly.

Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.

In November 1999, the Zombo dot com website was created as a parody of the creative, but, largely pointless flash intros, which were trending at the end of the 1990s. Welcome... to ZomboCom.

It becomes harder and harder to collect the desire to post things on the internet after being all in since 1995 and it turning out to be whatever this is *gestures broadly* Not that -you- shouldn’t. I am just actively hermiting up over here.

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

This was the *point* of these things being taken up by corporations. If you're just hiring people to "fix" something, you can pay them less than if you're asking them to create it -- even though it requires them to do more work.

In particular this was the reason for the WGA strikes around this.
The AI boom has created a new type of work: fixing botched AI. Designers are being hired to remake wonky AI art. Writers are asked to make ChatGPT’s writing sound more human. Even software developers are tasked with fixing buggy vibe coding.
